MAP – Migration Assistance Point (formerly the Centre for Services for Foreigners)

MAP – Migration Assistance Point (formerly the Centre for Services for Foreigners) is a workplace operated by the Migration Office of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic. It functions as a “one-stop shop” where clients can receive professional assistance in one place – efficiently and clearly.

It is intended for:

  • foreign university students;
  • highly qualified workers and their family members;
  • returnees (Slovak citizens) from abroad who are returning to the territory of the Slovak Republic, as well as their family members.

MAP provides individual counselling and assistance in the following main areas:

• Residence matters
Support with submitting applications for granting, extending, or changing the purpose of residence.

• Employment
Information on legal employment opportunities, working conditions, and guidance on the labour market.

• Social integration
Advice on housing, education, healthcare, and other aspects of everyday life.

• Navigation within the public services system
Assistance with contacting authorities, public institutions, and relevant organisations.

The above services are provided free of charge.
