According to the information of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, entry to Slovak Republic is allowed to all persons fleeing a war.
Not all citizens have refugee status automatically. After entering Slovakia, they must decide whether they want to apply for residence (if they have the necessary documents), for international protection (asylum or temporary protection), or for temporary refuge, or they want to transit through Slovakia to another country.
What follows after entering the Slovak Republic – what are the obligations and rights of Ukrainian citizens or what is the procedure regarding their stay in the SR?
It depends on their decision what status they will apply for. Information on basic options has been summarized by MIC IOM HERE – information will be continuously updated.
We do not have information on changes in the application of the Act on the Residence of Foreigners yet.
