The Foreign police reservation system currently provides two types of services: authorized and unauthorized services.
AUTHORIZED SERVICES may be used by foreign nationals who hold a valid electronic residence permit card and are registered in the foreign nationals register. However, they must have an activated security personal code (BOK). This is a six-digit number that a foreign national activates either when submitting an application for the issuance of a residence permit card or, after the card has been issued, during a visit to a Foreign police office, the document departments of the Police force (official hours and contacts available HERE) or in Bratislava at the Client Centre (Tomášikova 46) and in other cities at the District offices.
When logging in to the reservation system with an electronic residence permit card foreign nationals may use a mobile phone as a card reader (the phone must have NFC capability) and download the eIDENTITY application. Or foreign nationals must obtain an ID card reader and install the required applications/programs on their computer (details on the procedure can be found HERE).
For the use of electronic services, please refer to the manuals and frequently asked questions on the website eGovernment portal.
After logging in using the electronic residence permit card, the holder may select an appointment for handling a specific life situation at the Foreign Police, up to 60 days in advance. At the same time, a new life situation has been added for which an appointment may be reserved: “Temporary residence – change of purpose of residence.”
Authorized services allow applicants to book an appointment, for example, for the life situation “Temporary residence – renewal,” whereas unauthorized services do not offer this option.
As of 15 December 2024, based on legislative changes, it should be possible to submit certain types of applications also by electronic means based on a valid and activated residence document (authorized services). The law allows online submission of applications for the renewal of temporary residence, issuance of a new residence card, applications for long-term residence, and applications for permanent residence for an unlimited period.
UNAUTHORIZED SERVICES may be used by foreign nationals who do not yet hold a residence permit card and therefore are not registered in the foreign nationals register. They log into the reservation system in the same manner as before and must provide all information required by the system, including first name, last name, date of birth, telephone number, and email address. Appointments for unauthorized services are available up to 40 days in advance.
Unauthorized services may also be used by cross-border users of eGovernment e-services.
When an applicant requests an appointment via reservation system, in both cases (authorized and unauthorized) the system will provide them with a PIN code, which must be presented during the scheduled visit to the Foreign Police.
It remains valid that if a foreign national does not attend their scheduled appointment and fails to cancel it, they will be placed on a so-called blacklist, and access to the reservation system services will be denied for a period of 60 days.
